ABOUT THAI MASSAGE
(NUAD BO’ RARN)

The massage is very meditative for both giver and recipient. It is given very slowly and in a heightened state of consciousness.
Thai Massage is a practical application of the Buddhist concept of metta, the four divine states of mind which are Loving Kindness, compassion, vicarious joy and equanimity (composure).

Use a slow meditative rocking motion to gently palm press and Thumb Press “SEN Lines” which are energy lines similar to meridian lines and Acupressure points (as in Chinese medicine), revitalizing and energizing the body’s natural energy flow.

What’s unique is Yoga stretches are used throughout the body stretching the muscles and opening the joints.

Thai is done on a mat on a floor. This allows for many movements that are not practical or effective on a table. The receiver is fully clothed except for the feet.

What sets my video apart, in addition to learning Thai Massage, is to acquire the therapeutic techniques for Leg, Hamstring, Knee, and Shoulder problems, Low back, Sciatica, Neck pain and Headaches.

When I first started I promoted my massage as a therapeutic modality. In 1993 very few people had heard of Thai massage. As a result I needed to perform and utilized every modality I learned . I continued to receive Thai Massage from an Instructor each week for about 5 years which helped me realize how effective this massage really is. To this day I still receive the massage weekly.

History of Thai Massage
(Nuad Bo’ Rarn)

Thai massage is approximately 2500 years old.  Javika Kumar Bhaccha (Shivago komarpaj) was a celebrated Yogi and doctor in India of the ancient healing of Ayurveda and is said that he was personal physician to the Buddha and his family. He is known as the Father Doctor and the originator of Thai massage. It was later brought from India to Siam (now Thailand) by the Buddhists monks. It is an oral tradition passed down from one generation to the next. The early inscriptions of Thai massage were carved in stone and later set into the walls of the Watt Po Monastery in 1832.
